Oily and Normal-to-Oily Skin

Published By on August 21, 2011

Stick to oil-free formulations that are water-based contain ingredients like silicone and glycerin rather than oil. These foundations have a satiny, spreadable texture but won’t leave you feeling like a grease ball. Select a neutral or matte (shine-free) finish. Some to consider:

  • Oil-free liquid foundations, like Cover Girl Clean Makeup, L’Oréal Mattique Oil Free Matte Makeup, Almay Amazing Lasting Sheer Foundation, and Oil of Olay Shine Control Foundation.
  • Oil-free sticks, like Maybelline Shine Free Oil Control Cover Stick and Christian Dior Teint Glace Cooling Stick Foundation.
  •  Powder foundations, like Cover Girl Simply Powder, Neutrogena Healthy Skin Cream Powder Makeup, MAC Studio Fix, Clarins Matte Powder Compact Foundation SPF 15 and Origins As Good As It Gets powdered makeup.
  • Oil-free tinted moisturizers, like Bobbi Brown Essentials SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer.

Keep in mind: For problem skin or to conceal minor breakouts, spot apply a medicated foundation or concealer. Look for one that’s oil-free and/or contains salicylic acid like Neutrogena SkinClearing Makeup or Cover Girl Clarifying Liquid Make-up.
